Thursday Mom made a life altering discovery. We can make banana bread in a rice cooker. YEEEEEEES!!!!!
Since it was Thursday, we did some practicing before our Japanese class later that evening. Here is a picture of me working on my hiragana.
In the afternoon, we met Uncle Shea at the Hon-Atsugi train station. Apparently there is an entire shopping mall under the train station, that Shea wanted to show us. They even had a pet store! I have decided that I need to go home, win the lottery, and then come back and redo my entire wardrobe, buy an akita puppy, buy a long hair white Siamese kitten with blue eyes (it was so cute!), and buy my entire future home dish sets (I know that sounds weird, but they have beautiful, hand made, hand painted dishes). I am a minimalist that likes pretty things π
After the mall, we met up with Miho and her two boys. Bayus found a flyer with robots on it earlier this month, and so he asked Miho to translate and research it for him. Miho is so kind. She discovered that there is a place that will allow you to use their robots, and once a month they have robot battle tournaments (much like in the movie Big Hero 6). You can go to this place anytime in the month, however, and pay to practice with the robots. Bayus and Elias enjoyed maneuvering the robots across a mat, knocking over Styrofoam buildings, and making record winning soccer goals! The boys are excited to come on battle day!

After the robots, Miho and her sons, Shea, and our family went out to eat at a soba noodle restaurant. Because there were so many of us, we got the fancy, party room.
After dinner, we said goodbye to Miho and her boys, and then we headed to Japanese class. Shea decided to come with us. While we were in the very beginning of the beginners class, Shea was put in the hardest class. This week, we learned how to ask/say how much something costs, how to count, and how to ask/say when your birthday is. Our group was the fun (a.k.a. loud) table.
Hannah
Happy birthday Hannah. You have become quite a woman. ;))
Bayus and Elias were doing great manoeuvring the robot.
We’re looking forward to the robot battle!
We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for your all of your help, Miho!
This day looks so amazingly fun! Play soccer with robots! Sooooooo cool!!
Thanks, Val π Bayus was sooo excited to use the robot!
What is that on Shea’s plate? It doesn’t look like Yakisoba! Was this your birthday dinner? If so, Happy Birthday Miss Hannah!!
I don’t remember exactly, but I think Shea had tempura vegetables (the vortex of fried goodness in the foreground of the picture), and cold soba. No, it was not my birthday dinner, that comes later… π
