We’ve had a fun and full summer! Here is a selection of some of the fun spots we found ourselves. First up we have another amazing production from Thistle Theatre
with ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’. I’m looking forward to this coming season of new performances from this wonderfully talented performers. I’ve got pictures here of Bayus greeting the kind river troll after the performance and then Eddie had the wonderful idea of taking the kids to see
Seattle’s own bridge troll
under Fremont Bridge before heading home!

Next up we have pictures of the kids one a few of many adventures they went on with daddy while mommy was away with girlfriends (all homeschool mom’s away for a much needed end of school year retreat).
We were pleased to ‘be the guests’ at an amazing performance put on by the
Kitsap Forest Theater and Mountaineer Players of ‘Beauty and the Beast’
We spent a good deal of time this summer enjoying classes at our local YMCA. Elias and Hannah both really ‘took off’ with their swimming and have even started being introduced to diving! Elias had a week of soccer camp and Hannah a week of dance camp (both of them enjoyed this immensely).
Northwest Trek
anytime of year is a wonderful outing, here we are exploring with some good friends!
Our big trip this summer was up to Vancouver BC. While I went to a doula conference held for
DONA International, Eddie took the kids exploring! Here they are enjoying the beach in the vast
Stanley Park
More fun was had at the
Vancouver Space Centre, including making and shooting off their own rockets. They enjoyed the water park and playground inside
Stanley Park.
Another amazing stop, but this time after the conference so I could join in the fun, was to
Capilano Suspension Bridge. Crossing the main bridge was a nerve wracking experience but once on the other side Treetop Adventures and some nature hikes made it all worth it!
Once back in WA again we checked out the ever favorite
Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium
If you haven’t been there since the new Animal Avenue opened then you’ve got to check it out! This area is a child’s dream play area of hands on fun and lots of animals to explore.
Here are some of our favorite little friends enjoying the day with us.
Not more than a month goes by, it seems, without another fun birthday party to participate in. One of the highlights for Hannah was her friend Abbie’s spectacular ‘School’ birthday, complete with bus ride and show n’ tell.
Here she is with a few of her special friends enjoying the shade during ‘recess’.
Now to wrap up this already insanely too long blog post (I’ll keep it shorter from here on out, I just wanted to catch up to present). Our local library systems are fantastic. We’ve participated in much that they’ve had to offer this summer including this amazing Latin Concert in the park. Elias volunteered and was chosen to go up and play with the band in front of a couple hundred people, I think he did amazingly well!
