On Sunday we went to church. We had communion that day. This is my first time having communion in Japanese and at this church. It was pretty similar to communion at our own church but they prayed in Japanese and the glasses were made of real glass instead of the plastic cups we use normally.
Then we went to a community center where we met up with Miho and her boys to go to rakugo (Japanese story telling). It was like stand up comedy but kid appropriate and he sat down.
Our favorite story is one called tenshiki about farts. It was hilarious!
Here’s some other rakugo I found online to share with you.
The guy who told the rakugo stories says he knows 150 stories in Japanese but has only translated 15 into English so far. The tradition of rakugo story telling is hundreds of years old, and always funny stories. He is Japanese but he lived in the USA for a few years as a child and then also came back to attend university. He used to work for other companies but one day he saw a rakugo performance and he decided to leave his work and be trained as a rakugo storyteller. I’m glad he decided to become a story teller and I’m really glad he was willing to tell his stories in English so we could enjoy them.
After that we went for ice cream and hung out for a few more hours with our friends Miho, Jin and Rei.

That’s so fun! Logan and I have been listening to comedians here too. When you get home, you should share your favorite jokes.
